Education Subcommittee Holds Comprehensive Course in Japanese Business Innovation Presentation Contest

On July 3rd, the Education Subcommittee (Chair: Mr. FUKUOKA Junji, Mitsui & Co., (Thailand) Ltd.) held the 11th Comprehensive Course in Japanese Business Innovation Presentation Contest, the final event of a sponsored course conducted at Chulalongkorn University, Kasetsart University, and King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi.

The course aims to strengthen Japan–Thailand relations by providing university students with an opportunity to learn about innovation in Japanese companies and the corporate culture that supports it. At the contest, six finalist teams—two from each university—presented business proposals on the theme “Technology for Facilitating Daily Life and Social Participation.”

King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi won first place with “The Invisible Hug,” a smart vest that provides emotional support for children with autism by detecting emotional arousal through vital signs and applying gentle, reassuring pressure. In addition to a cash prize, the winning team received a five-night, six-day study tour to Japan as a special prize.
